Challenges of NGOs facing in Bihar and role of Dhankeshri Devi Foundation in development of Bihar
Bihar is among one of the poorest state of India. Here
a huge population depends on agriculture. There are limited resources for
agriculture. Most of the agricultural activity depends on natural weather
condition. There are a no. Of cannel made for the agricultural purpose. Most of
the method used in agriculture is traditional. Due to the uncertainty of
weather most of the time farmers faces a huge loss in the agriculture. Now
people are not much interested in farming. Most of the lower class has no
agricultural land. Medium class family emphasizes on education to the family
member. They only study hard to get a job. Taking job is the only concern for
the youth. Upper class family not doing any business here on a large scale. They
prefer to do business outside of the state. Local politics of this state is
very much different from the other state. Local governing body not providing
any fixed security so the business man not interested in establishing any large
scale industry. A few industries were running the past like jute industry,
cement industry, suger mills. A much esteemed company named dalmiya industry
was in the past. Today electricity power plant is running on the large scale.
There are lots of NGOs registered in the Bihar, but
not performing well. Very few are only active rest of the NGOs is in silent
state. Politics and administrations are directly involved in NGOs working area.
There is no such kind of liberty so that they can make self decisions. Due to
lots of pressure from the government agencies, NGOs not performing well. Dhankeshri
Devi Foundation is running in self financed mode. So we hope for some liberty
from the administration as well as politics side.
Now there is need of training for improving agricultural
production, benefit of education for their children’s, medical treatment on
time, social security etc. Children of Bihar are very intelligent in studying.
We have to need to guide better so that they can achieve their goal of life. There
are very badly need of such kind of NGOs in Bihar who are involving in the
educational sector. Here what Dhankeshri Devi Foundation tries to do, the free
education for children up to class 5th. Free tuition classes for the
student up to class 10th. We are also running a children’s library. Basically
we are focused in the primary area like education, health and livelihood.
Dhankeshri Devi Foundation also running a charitable trust for the homeopathic
medicine to poor people. This only a mere start of our project. In future there
is lots of scope for improvement. Any kind of support is highly appreciated.
