What is women empowerment, how NGOs plays a vital role for women empowerment

What is Women Empowerment? “Women Empowerment” the most talkative word of current society. Have you ever try to understand the actual meaning of women empowerment. Today we will discuss about the real and actual meaning of this word. International women’s day celebrated on 8th March. On this 8th of March we celebrate the achievement of women’s in field of politics, economics etc along with the contribution in nation building. Our history is full of women leadership, scarification's, and bravery. Whether it is a boy child or a girl child in family, it is the responsibility of women to take care of both. So from the birth of any child women started contribution in nation building. Each and every should must respect women without any cause. Women’s are the pillars of our societies. The actual meaning of women empowerment is “women can do each and every thing that a man can do without any gender biasness. It means we gave equal opportunity in all fields/sectors to women as men. Whatever our constitution gave the fundamental rights to Indian citizens with irrespective of gender, caste and religion, we have to pass all these right to the women also. For example, freedom of speech, freedom of expressions, equality of opportunities, rights against exploitation, cultural and educational rights etc.

Whatever men can do today, women can also do. The actual meaning is both men and women are equal in all respective. If we gone through our history, women are treated as home makers only. They have no right to go out from home and perform the duties. In all manners they have limited to the inbuilt house activities. There were lots of restrictions on women such as they cannot pursue higher education; they cannot express her views. Women suffers a lot like child marriage, domestic violence, they have no any right in property. But today’s scenario has been changed. Women now demanding her right strongly. They know their rights. They are ready to rebel from each and every social evil. We have to understand these things. Now on international levels, women engage in each and every sector. Even some women got the highest post of many companies. They are now sitting on the decisions making post and many men working under her guidance.

NGOs can play a vital role in women empowerment. From the first day of birth of girl child we have to look after very similar to the male child. We have to give all opportunity like sending school, sending park, sending out side for playing and physical activities. NGOs can play very big role in educating poor and backward families about the potential of a girl child. They can also encourage the families for their higher education. Most of the backward families who lives in rural area are not aware about government scheme launched for girl child. Currently Central Govt. of India running a number of girl child scheme such as “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”,  “Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana”, “Balika Samriddhi Yojana”, “CBSE Udaan scheme”, “National Scheme of Incentive to girls for secondary education scheme”, “Dhanalakshmi Scheme” along with many more state govt scheme. At village level Dhankeshri Devi Foundation organizes awareness campaign about central government as well state government level scheme. All type of awareness about these schemes can be done only through NGOs.

Dhankeshri Devi Foundation, organize awareness campaign among the women. We gave special care on girl child student. Girl’s children’s education is totally free of cost including dresses.  We are also trying to add female volunteer as many as possible. Dhankeshri Devi Foundation committed to do their duties at grass root levels. Let’s hope for a better tomorrow for girls child. We have to create such a society in which a female can also live without any fear.

Respect women and respect Nation!

Jai Hind.

Challenges of NGOs facing in Bihar

Challenges of NGOs facing in Bihar and role of Dhankeshri Devi Foundation in development of Bihar

Bihar is among one of the poorest state of India. Here a huge population depends on agriculture. There are limited resources for agriculture. Most of the agricultural activity depends on natural weather condition. There are a no. Of cannel made for the agricultural purpose. Most of the method used in agriculture is traditional. Due to the uncertainty of weather most of the time farmers faces a huge loss in the agriculture. Now people are not much interested in farming. Most of the lower class has no agricultural land. Medium class family emphasizes on education to the family member. They only study hard to get a job. Taking job is the only concern for the youth. Upper class family not doing any business here on a large scale. They prefer to do business outside of the state. Local politics of this state is very much different from the other state. Local governing body not providing any fixed security so the business man not interested in establishing any large scale industry. A few industries were running the past like jute industry, cement industry, suger mills. A much esteemed company named dalmiya industry was in the past. Today electricity power plant is running on the large scale.

There are lots of NGOs registered in the Bihar, but not performing well. Very few are only active rest of the NGOs is in silent state. Politics and administrations are directly involved in NGOs working area. There is no such kind of liberty so that they can make self decisions. Due to lots of pressure from the government agencies, NGOs not performing well. Dhankeshri Devi Foundation is running in self financed mode. So we hope for some liberty from the administration as well as politics side.

Now there is need of training for improving agricultural production, benefit of education for their children’s, medical treatment on time, social security etc. Children of Bihar are very intelligent in studying. We have to need to guide better so that they can achieve their goal of life. There are very badly need of such kind of NGOs in Bihar who are involving in the educational sector. Here what Dhankeshri Devi Foundation tries to do, the free education for children up to class 5th. Free tuition classes for the student up to class 10th. We are also running a children’s library. Basically we are focused in the primary area like education, health and livelihood. Dhankeshri Devi Foundation also running a charitable trust for the homeopathic medicine to poor people. This only a mere start of our project. In future there is lots of scope for improvement. Any kind of support is highly appreciated.

Role of NGOs in India and vision of Dhankeshri Devi Foundation for Societies

Role of NGO in India

India is the world 2nd largest populated country in the world. The entire govt scheme fails here due to increasing population very fast. Lots of time taking in implementation of any project.  On the other hand in the mean time a large population which comes under the old scheme increased. For example, if a project is made for the population of 10 lakhs people but due to delay in the project implementation by 3 years a new 3 lakhs people entitle for the same govt. Scheme Benefit. But the scheme was made for the 10 lakhs people only. Now till the date of implementation of project 3 lakh needy people kept away from the benefit. And so on project is going on. Each and every year govt plans and each and every year plan failed. Removing Poverty and better education to all is now a challenged for the Government.

Need of Urban India is different from the Rural India.
Here NGOs targeting the special area such as urban or rural. The need of both society people is completely different from one another. Urban Underprivileged population lives in slums areas. Where there is a lack of education, lack of good medical facility, and lack of culture. Most of the people doing job but getting less salary. Due to high cost of leaving in the urban area both husband as well as wife does job. They have no time to think about their children’s.  This is the biggest disadvantage for the school going children’s.

On the other hands, Rural India has completely different challenge from the urban people. Here the biggest problem is unemployment and lack of education. Due to no source of income to these people their expense capacity is very limited, even they r not getting healthy food for the two times in day. Most of the time family migrated from village to town in search of Job and education. So the children’s of these families are suffered most. There is a high chance for school dropping. Families have full focus on the primary need of living “Roti Kapda aur Makan”.

These migrated people are never counted in any govt. Scheme. So all the time they are suffering.

NGO plays a big role in the re habitation of these urban and rural people. Govt. cannot control such social issues. So NGO can play a big role. There is a no. of NGOs working in the India in a no. of fields. We at Dhankeshri Devi Foundation committed for the betterment for the underprivileged families. We are very specific about our role in the societies. We try to maximize our volunteer potential to deliver the project on time. Initially Dhankeshri Devi Foundation engages in the better education to all poor children’s and better health facilities to the underprivileged.
